Eclipse is much more than just a luminaire. It’s a tool to transform city squares into stages, to start the visitor experience outside the venue, and to create a unique corporate lighting for brands.
ECLIPSE
“Eclipse lets you add an emotional lighting layer that can completely transform a space. That‘s when Urban Lighting becomes Identity Lighting.
Turning Spaces Into Experiences – Identity Lighting with Eclipse
What sets Eclipse apart

4-in-1 Optic
Four segments, each individually controllable and with its own adjustable light distribution: thanks to its lens optics, Eclipse is a strong choice for urban spaces where different lighting requirements converge.

Smart City Ready
From stand-alone to cloud service: Integrate sensors into Eclipse to monitor luminaire data, or use environmental data to support urban planning.

Responsible Lighting at Night
Maximum experience, minimum emission: no light above the horizontal and a glow function that can also be used for visual guidance when the lighting level is lowered.

Fit Eclipse into any environment by making use of its versatile mounting options ranging from a central pole top (A) and 90° pole top (B) version to side arm (C) and wall (D) mounting or using a catenary mounted version (E).
Shape of Light
4-in-1 Optic: Standard compliant Functional Lighting
To overcome the constant trade-offs between mounting location and light distribution, we designed Eclipse with modular optics, giving you unprecedented design freedom for functional lighting.
The Eclipse lens array is divided into four segments. Each segment can be equipped with a different light distribution if needed. Thanks to the square footprint of the lenses, the light distributions can be rotated in 90° increments.

Glow-Ring: Transformative Identity Lighting
Add an emotional layer to your urban lighting scheme or expand the capabilities of your lighting concept by using the optional glow function.
- Enhance the visitor experience by incorporating brand colours into the lighting scheme.
- Transform the atmosphere of a space for events or seasonal festivities by using the RGBW glow.
- Give directions or use the glow as a temporary marker for meeting points or emergency routes.
- Remain visually oriented if the functional light is dimmed or switched off late at night.
- Switch to a dimmed light with an insect-friendly spectrum when there is no traffic.
Intelligence of Light
Individual control
Eclipse offers various control options for projects of different scales, whether set up as a local network, connected to a cloud service or integrated into a smart city grid. It also allows for the integration of third-party sensors. Within the luminaire, the glow function and each quadrant of the functional light can be controlled and monitored individually.
- Program and control scenes either via app on site or remotely via a cloud service.
- Choose between programmed scenes, sensor-triggered scenes, or commands passed on by public lighting or building management systems.
- Integrate third-party sensors (upon request) to collect environmental data such as climate data or pedestrian frequency.

Are you looking for solutions to map pedestrian flows using heat maps, or to assess local conditions such as precipitation based on climate data? With our connex-X lighting control system, Eclipse can act as a data source in urban areas.

connex-x is the intelligent lighting control system for outdoor areas. With the “connex-x Leitfeld” web application (A), you can define switching actuators and program luminaire-specific dimming curves and color sequences - all from the comfort of your desk. On site, an app gives you access via smartphone (B). Alternatively, you can call up pre-programmed scenes locally via sensor control or connex-x Smart Switch (C). Of course, Eclipse can also be integrated into a lighting control system via DALI (D) and is available as a switchable (E) version.
Designed by Jörg Boner
Eclipse was designed by Swiss designer Jörg Boner: "The rounded shape of Eclipse, which is inspired by the traditional lampshade, evokes a sense of familiarity in the viewer on the one hand and blends perfectly into urban landscapes on the other."
