This sets R–System apart

Light where it is needed

Left-, right-, and double-asymmetric light distributions align the lighting with use zones such as aircraft stands, loading bays, traffic lanes, and staging areas. Light is applied where operations require it.

From the Arctic to the desert

R–System is used in more than 300 airport projects worldwide – from the airfield in Greenland to the Dubai hub. In total, it has proven itself in more than 700 large-area projects – in logistics centers, handling areas, and port facilities.

Dark-Sky certified

R–System directs light asymmetrically from a horizontal position deep and wide across outdoor areas – with no direct uplight. If the luminaire is tilted, a full cut-off shield limits light output above the horizontal.

Scales with the site

R–System is modular: R1, R2, and R3 represent one, two, or three light modules. With different light distributions, output packages, and mounting options, it can be tailored to site size, mounting height, and structural requirements.

Shape of light – Safe outdoor work areas

Whether loading a truck in a logistics yard or handling an A380 on an airport apron: custom-developed asymmetric light distributions and the multilayer principle of our lens optics provide uniformly illuminated work areas and safe orientation outdoors.

Body of light – Robust and durable

An aluminium alloy with less than 0.1% copper increases R–System’s corrosion resistance. This makes the LED floodlight suitable for demanding outdoor environments where salty air, moisture, or aggressive vapors put stress on the material. The optional ewoECP coating provides additional surface protection.

Body of Light – Two output packages per size

R1, R2, and R3 are each available with two output packages: 160 or 192 LEDs per light module. This allows luminous flux to be adjusted within each size to project scale, mounting height, and economic requirements. The control gear can also operate on either a 230 V or 400 V supply.

Body of light – Connect faster

R2 and R3 feature a connection box with pre-installed module wiring. This reduces mast wiring to the connection of a single cable. Bottom cable entry protects the terminals from moisture.

Body of light – Engineered down to the detail

The corrosion-resistant aluminium alloy, GORE® Protective Vents for seal pressure relief, and integrated thermal protection make R–System robust. Regional risks such as bird damage are also addressed: metal protective conduits can be fixed at the cable entry to protect the cable run up to the luminaire.
