November 2009 UN CLIMATE CHANGE CONFERENCE
With the mandate of the United Nations and prior to the 2009 UN Climate Conference, the Danish Government commissioned the design of a sustainable lighting systems for the conference site at Bella Center Copenhagen. The foundation of the lighting systems was highly-efficient ewo LED technology. This technology reduces energy consumption to a minimum and generates an optimum starting point for development. The lights were installed on a mast system with solar cells that had been developed by lighting designer Steven Scott and generated more energy that the system needed. The architectural practice 3XN was responsible for the design of the lights themselves.
