The Transsensorial Gateway
What is the relationship between sound, light, movement and people, and how can it be explored?
This was the question the collaboration between ewo and noa* network of architecture tried to answer in 2021. The Transsensorial Gateway installation was the eventual result; a display of light, movement and sound designed to unify visitors in a collective, shared experience that they would never forget.
Utilising a large quantity of ewoLightTiles, the installation reacts to and interacts with visitors, generating movement, sound and light, immersing all visitors with all elements in unison.
In addition to the ambitious concept, numerous collaborators on the project had to bring it all together, with mirrorinox surfaces, nieder metal design and ebner film, all working alongside noa* network of architecture and ewo to bring the multisensory project to life. The spectacular Transsensorial Gateway formed a uniquely evocative entrance to Cortile d’Onore at Università degli Studi di Milano, during Interni Fuorisalone 2021.
