ALFORTVILLE – DOUBLE UPGRADE FOR VENUES OF TWO SPORTS
LED conversion for two sports pitches in a suburb of southern Paris required multiple parties to match precise specifications, to take advantage of energy and maintenance savings for each venue – completed in just a couple of weeks.
This conversion involved a switch from traditional luminaires on one rugby and one football pitch, as part of the overall project, creating a need for two tailored solutions. Precise illumination and the compliance with French sport’s standards were met without compromises by ewo’s recently launched third generation of high power floodlights: R–System gen3 and R–System gen3 MAX.
Separate classifications needed to be observed for the project as a whole:
– Rugby / E4: 200 lux - U0> 0,7 – Emin/Emax> 0,5
– Football / E5: 150 lux – U0> 0,7 – Emin/Emax>0,4
The lighting calculations and overall design of the project are vitally important in order to conform to specifications from FFF (French Football Association) and FFR (French Rugby Association).
The client was familiar with the quality of ewo’s floodlights, with huge confidence in the seriousness of ewo’s close partner Resolum, and Urbalux’s responsiveness in completing the project in a short period.
Completion of the project came only three months after initiation, before a reception with the FFF and FFR one month later. The result was a professional, future-proofed illumination optimised for maximum performance of up to 265,000 lm and a long lifetime.
