City Lighting, Brunico (ITA)

The entire city of Brunico in South Tyrol’s Val Pusteria, has converted to ewo LED lighting technology with a project beginning in 2016 and finishing in the Old Town in 2018.

Around 3,000 custom-made as well as standard CN luminaires were ordered over this period, each of which, in accordance with specified application requirements, enhances the serenity and architectural beauty of this picturesque city. The outstanding high-performance design within the Old Town of Brunico, is delivered through bespoke technical and aesthetic solutions.

ewo was the only luminaire manufacturer able to offer combinations of horizontal and vertical lighting in a single luminaire unit for a variety of applications.

In addition, ewo created a tailor-made design concept that now represents a unique luminaire family that brings a subtle, modern twist to the aesthetic of the Old Town.

The accuracy of the lighting reduces unwanted stray light and ensures that glare is reduced at night. Thanks to our intelligent light management software and dimming options, precisely accurate lighting can be achieved.

Brunico has become a shining example of state-of-the-art luminaires and intelligent technologies that skillfully complement the traditional character of Brunico’s 13th to 16th century architecture.
