Queensland State Hockey Centre, Brisbane (AUS)
ewo was commissioned to equip the Queensland State Hockey Centres multi-purpose stadium with lighting that had to meet various precise requirements.
Standardized, environmentally friendly lighting for TV broadcasting
The "Queensland State Hockey Centre" project in Brisbane presented a number of special challenges in terms of lighting design. These included lighting the sports fields to television broadcast standards, reducing glare effects and disturbing shadows that could interfere with the game, and reducing stray light to protect the surrounding nature.

Concrete requirement for TV transmissions
In order to continue broadcasting the matches on television, the existing lights had to be replaced as they no longer met the lighting requirements. Among other things, it had to be ensured that the position of the poles was not changed and that the replacement took place during the off-season.
A total of 88 R–System gen3 MAX with asymmetric EP-L and EP-R Extra Forward lenses and 4,000 K were used. ewo's 0% light emission above gamma 90° was particularly impressive, easily meeting the dark sky requirements of <1. The measurements carried out after installation proved that all specifications were met and exceeded.
“In this project, we were able to effortlessly meet the customer's numerous requirements with a standard product and protect the environment at the same time.
